Well the end of a month that started very well, had a seriously rocky patch in the middle, the finished so-so. Unless everything wins today i think we have to accept a loss for the month. I try to set myself a 100 point limit for losing each month, if your point is £1, you can spend more than that on a night out, so it's not that bad a hobby really! Work this morning so a quickie. As of Sunday I will be having an extended break from work due to the impending birth of my third child, so the blog may see some elongated action over that period.

Yesterday was a success, profit made, as highlighted, at Doncaster. Plus, the 1-2 in the Argento. Although the forecast isn't included in stats as I promised. Tricky day ahead today, the best racing is to be found on the other side of the Irish sea, but 3 losing tracks for me today, so limit stakes.

Saturday 28th January -

Morning all. Profit yesterday! okay it was 1pt LSP but 1pt is 1pt!!! We made profit at all 3 AW tracks yesterday and a loss at the jumps. hmmm. Luckily today sees Doncaster. Since I began logging course by course (31/10/11) I have tipped 34 horses at Donny. For £10 stake returns would be £551.17, thats a massive £211.17 profit. Only Downpatrick and Market Rasen offer me a better Return of Investment. (ROI) I shall try to put my ROI next to each track just so you can see. Because there are some I just cannot get right. I have had to dutch a couple at Cheltenham today. There is a couple more races whereby I perhaps should have left in a second selection, but that just gets silly! If you want to do a RFC then by all means go ahead. I shall not be praising myself if i get one up as I won't be betting RFC and I won't include in stats. And of course there is the small matter of my FAVOURITE horse, and in my opinion, pound for pound THE best horse in training. Big Bucks. I severely hope after the build up at Donny I don't blow out completely!

Thursday 26th January -

A day of hitting the bar yesterday. Altogether 7 2nd places. A slight loss made, and as stated yesterday all stats will be available from tonight(hopefully). I've put in some shorter prices for a win Lucky 15. Throwing all the balls at the bucket as it were. I've even put up some Meydan as Miss Hamilton moaned at me last week when I didn't. I've picked out a couple of blue ones for you Kate. :-)
Anyone who follows me on twitter will know of my 125 Warwick dilemna. I narrowed it down eventually by watching some videos. Ugo(the street cry) doesn't show a lot of the bridle and may be vulnerable to quicker horses here, so he went. Fire Fighter(the alert) has the best form and most likely would have won last time but for a slight mistake at the business end, hence the alert. So I've gone with Shaloon(J P Ferguson) for a bit of value mostly, but might cover with FF to beat him in a forecast.

Well I guess we may see some Pigs flying anytime soon as unbelievably we made a profit on a monday. Mostly thanks to Dubai Bounty landing the last at 14/1. Another trappy day ahead. Role on the flat season I say. Or Cheltenham, Aintree, then the flat season! At the moment my best reslut at Cheltenham would be Join Together landing the RSA Chase. Not necessarily my best bet but the one that will return the most cash! Hoping to see a few of the Supreme Novice contenders run well over the next couple of weeks, mostly because I'm greedy and would like to see Steps to Freedom overpriced ;-)
Right back to today. 2 AW meets and Leicester. Wets the appetite, doesn't it? Although I've been doing ok on the AW lately so shouldn't complain. One system is essentially finding horses that have no hope of winning the race that might win the race. Make sense? Watch the AW meetings for a week or so and you will soon see! Right enough nonsense from me it's tipping time.

Worst Saturday we've had in a while. Just keep getting too many places rather than winners. I did have someone  ask me if they should do one each way. My response to any question regarding staking is this, "it is your money, stake it how you see best, I just pass on my opinion of which one I think has a chance of winning the race". I don't know how that has come across, but essentially I am in no position to tell someone how to spend their money or what to spend it on. I just enjoy the buzz of knowing that we are taking some cash out of the book, and I get a greater buzz if I can guide someone in the right direction.

Friday 20th January -

We dipped behind for the first time this month! We're still well within touching distance. It's paramount when punting that you never try to recoup/chase losses, you will only ever lose far more than you could ever intend to. What we will do is play exactly the same in the hope that we can make a profit today. Live for the now. I do find it amusing that during my purple patch I gained around 50-60 followers on twitter and have lost double figures after having a few bad days. #fickle
It seems that some of our leading jockeys are getting disillusioned by the abuse they receive on twitter, leading to them considering pulling their accounts. None of us would really like this to happen. I would like to hope that no-one reading my blog would partake in such behaviour. Don't get me wrong, I have been unhappy with the style of ride given to horses at times, and I will explain that on twitter if I feel I need to. This doesn't mean I am right, and many others will have different opinions to you. But no matter what your opinion of a ride is, personal abuse crosses any line. A lot of these jockeys will reply to your tweets, they often tweet when they have ridden one that has worked well at home, and some of them are interesting people to follow. If they begin to close accounts then we will lose our insight into these hard working individuals with a real passion for their work. And that would be a great shame. So if you do decide you are unhappy with a ride, tell Fred in the pub, or Jim down the bookie shop. Even announce it on social media if you wish, however do not personally attack someone for doing their job. Thanks.

I can see today either being VERY good or "one of those days", if I were that way inclined, I would be "dutching" every race at Folkestone, such is the puzzle. Sunday 15th January -

Good Morning, well I sat up last night to watch my team get ceremoniously dumped out of the Superbowl road, fair play to the 49ers, their defence was immense for the entirety of the game, and big Alex Smith came good in the pressure plays. I'd like the Giants to win tonight so that San Francisco get to host the conference final. Also I will be looking for Baltimore to land the spoils in their playoff tonight as I tipped up both New England(already through) and Baltimore to win the AFC. Right I'm going to get onto my horses. Kelso has unfortuneatly been given the Red Light but we have a couple of medial cards to keep the juices flowing, and also it opens up a bit of time to study for the upcoming Aussie Open tennis. Remember sports tips don't appear on here, so keep peeled on twitter, @GSPCCOYS.

Despite a poor day yesterday, only a 1pt loss. Today is not going to be any easier, when looking at track stats my best one today is Southwell. I think that tells it's own story. Saying that, it's days like this that are more challenging to me, it's more fun to try and turn a deficit at a track than to point out that Donny is my best of the day and land a 14/1 in the first. ;-) I'll abandon the Cross-course Lucky as that died on it's feet! Just back to normal today.

Well a loss yesterday, but we move on. Today sees 2 winning tracks Doncaster(ROI 39.71%) and Fairyhouse(29.38%) and 2 losing ones Kempton(-32.5%) and Ffos Las(-37%). I'm trying something new, alongside my main Lucky 15 I will be doing a cross-course one, with my "NAP" for each meeting. See how it goes. It's getting late in the day, so I better get on, I am aware that 1 of my selections is a non runner, but I don't put up replacements, a)because if i wanted to bet on a different one, i would have picked a different one, and b)if one i go for is a non runner i do it next time it does go.

Monday 9th January -

I'm back and raring to go. And I must digress that anyone visiting Corby should stay in The Hampton by Hilton, Very friendly little hotel, only downside is not much selection in the 24hour bar, but with a JD Wetherspoon next door, and a late night dancing venue around the corner, it gets away with it. It was a far superior stay than the Fawlty Towers Holiday Inn. Right anyway, you're not here for my inane hotel critique, your here for some horses. Tricky day today as 2 losing courses for me, but we can only swing them into winning courses by perseverance!

Another tricky day today. I'm going to try on ride the Lingfield wave that I was on Wednesday, so my Lucky 15 will be at the AW hovel. Not such a great day yesterday but I'm sure we can all handle a 1.39point loss. Had I counted Meydan, would have only been 0.14 points but heyho. I'm still not going to count Meydan in stats. Thursday 5th January - Comfortably in profit

The blog is comfortably in profit this month, which is enjoyable. Today is a very tough day, the racing is not of a good quality and that makes picking winners much tougher. But that being said, there is a winner in every race and it is our challenge to find them. I have picked some for Meydan, I will be taking the liberty of not including these in my stats as I have less knowledge of the international horses and they are just my thoughts on what might win. Much the same as british racing i suppose but I'm not as confident. Keep a eye on the top meeting on the blog, It seems to hold strong most days, after all it is my most profitable course. But again never discount any selection on this blog, that is why i no longer rank them. If you fancy something and i fancy it why not just have a little bet. Right on we go.
