Yesterday topped off a cracking weekend, 9 winners at a Strike Rate of 47% across the cards. Hopefully we can carry this form into today, although I'll be honest, I've looked as in depth at the cards as I could be bothered. Really not a lot of true form to look at so the number crunching is difficult and I've taken a few chances. We were unlucky with the Lucky 15 yesterday with 3/4 winners. As for the Ew bets, when will I learn?
I'm going to try a little treble today, maybe with a trixie saver, just in case.
130 K - VIOLIN DAVIS 11/10 widely
Well in with second favourite Whoops a daisy, step up in trip shouldn't be a problem given the manner of his win last time at Cheltenham, for me the 13lb rise is offset by his 13l victory, and he was eased down on that occasion. Should take this nicely before the handicapper truly assesses how good he is.
300 FL - MY BROTHER SILVEST 2/1 365,PP
A progressive sort who David Pipe has shrewdly raised in grade each time the handicapper has smashed on some more pounds. Won a very hot race last time by 4 lengths, despite errors. To be fair discounting errors he would have won by around 20 lengths. On a four timer and I honestly cannot see anything I'd trust enough to take him on with.
320 L - MISSION COMPLETE 11/8 VC
With Maurice Linehan taking 8lb this one is effectively 3lb well in. He is a jockey I've only seen a couple of times, and for me he looks like he is trying to make a name for himself, however, this is a horse that should suit his hold up, come late style.
