Tuesday 28th June - Can't be worse than yesterday!

I think the less said about yesterday the better, we did land a treble in the tennis, Tomic, Fish and Paszek.
But Diddley-squat on the horses. 2 NR's, 2 Seconds and a Third. None of which at acceptable prices. So it was back to the drawing board today. It's always painful to draw a complete blank, not only on the financial aspect but also it dents the pride somewhat, it has you second guessing your system, the same system that is comfortably in profit for the month. Essentially I think it was a case of Monday being Monday.
Today I have 8 selections across 4 meetings, + a yankee in the tennis(essentially I'm just going to try to predict who will win each match today as there are only 4). Predictions for Tour De France and Copa America are being prepared and will probably be done Wednesday night while my wife teaches her birthing classes.

BRIGHTON
300 Brighton is a track where course form plays a large part. For that reason I have gone with INTEGRIA. He has won only twice on turf and both coming in 3 visits to this track. He is only 1lb up from last C&D win as he carried a 6lb penalty that occassion. Definately worth a go at a value price.

330 I'm siding with the reliable Gosden/Buick combination here. POLPERRO is clearly progressive wth figures of 432 and should have the measure of these today. Miss Excel could be a cheeky little outsider having been here before but no real form from that race.

HAMILTON
315 SAVE THE BEES is the selection here, did nothing as a 2 year old and struugled in maiden company this year, yet launched straight into Handicapping with a course and distance win 2 weeks ago. With only one win in this sphere and with him not being straightforward getting home, there is no evidence to suggest that the handicapper has a handle on him and could well be good for one more.

345 CASINO NIGHT(NAP) has to deal with a 6lb penalty for C&D win last thursday. The slightly better ground may help with overcoming that. The lightly race Circle of Angels for the in-form Mark Johnston yard has to be the main danger.

SOUTHWELL
600 I don't think any of the experienced horses offer a lot up here and I'm going to side with the newcomer from Mark Johnston VOCIFEROUS. The stable is in terrific form and in Royston Ffrench they have a very undervalued jockey(imo). Out of a Cherry Hinton winner so distance should suit.

730 I'm going with BOOGIE WALTZER here, the handicapper put him down 1lb for a pretty game 3rd last time where the trip seemed to get the better of him, back down to 5f today and also back down to C&D winning mark. However, this race is a real conundrum as you could make a case for everything involved but I'm sticking here.

STRATFORD
740 LIFE OF A LUSO, missed out on landing the hattrick here when falling at the last, last time out. He looked every inch the winner that day and as long as he doesn't remember the fence when he gets there this time he has every chance. Definately on the upgrade if he wins this it will be interesting where connections send him next.

810 I've gone for a big outsider to finish the day off. NETHER STREAM has suffered from errors in races that on paper look stronger than this one. He was a C&D winner at the back end of last year in a better event than this, if he gets rid of the mistakes then he is a big price fancy, as long as nothing gets pulled out you will get paid 4 places for this race and with the favourite hardly being the most consistent sort, this one has every chance of finishing us off with a big price place at least.

TENNIS

My little yankee for today
Lisicki to beat Bartoli
Pironkova to beat Kvtova
Paszek to beat Azarenka
Sharapova to beat Cibulkova

best average prices from sportingbet.

That's that for today. Hopefully we'll have a better day than yesterday.
Good luck and Happy punting.
