Wednesday 6th July - I wasn't sure but it is?

The subject of the tagline is that I wasn't sure there could be many days with worse racing than yesterday, that is until I had a look at today's racecards! Nothing better than a class 4 handicap in sight! To tell you the truth it's pretty rubbish! I've managed to squeak out 3 selections and wouldn't mind 1 of them at least coming in, after drawing a blank yesterday.

NAP LONG TIME COMING 800 Naas
This is mostly an each way chance, with a tissue price of 25/1 and a formline that reads 008780 you won't find this in many tipsters angles or on many betting slips up and down the land today. The reason I'm throwing it in is this. That formline is for distances of 8,8,10,10,9,8 and this is over 7. His record over 6&7 although not enrapturing is much better 22828356, the two 8's come from a 22 runner effort and a race won by Treasure Beach so they can be forgiven as you would any other animal. He has been tumbling down the weights and is now 13lb lower than last placed effort! In fairness his best form against today's rivals comes from the backend of last year. But blinkers are left on today in a bid to try and find that form. Paddy Power go 25/1 so you've got a generous 5/1 against a place for a horse who is off a career low mark over his optimum distance.

NB JOLLY RANCH 210 Bath
This one excites me a little to see if i've got it right. The selection here has done 80% of his running on all weather and the firm conditions at Bath could be perfect for him to make the transition to turf today. He is drawn very well on a track where the draw counts for a lot, he is well down the weights from what he is capable of, he should be able to get a lead which he wants, I think he will go out to make all and on the very quick ground there is no reason why he can't. He is on favourable terms with 75% of the field. No prices yet but Betfair trades at 12's and the tissue is 10/1. So still a solid shout for the cautious each way punter. WINNER 8/1

TREBLE CODA AGENCY 750 Kempton
The booking of Neil Callan is an initial positive for me, Neil has been in terrific form of late and is always one to watch. Coda Agency has done all of his winning on the all weather, 5 of which have come at Kempton. He is on the same mark as when second over C&D in April and just 1lb higher than when winning a similar event at Lingfield in January. 16/1 is a massive overprice on a horse that has won this type of event 9 (nine) times and is a 5 time C&D winner!

Good luck and Happy Punting.
