Morning, this has been a pretty horrid start to the year overall. Especially when these 2 months are essentially Cheltenham pot building exercises. It is literally going through the motions for 2 weeks now until the big day arrives and those Novice hurdlers go rattling away to the infamous roar. I for one can't wait. I don't mind losing when my bet is beaten by a good horse, I sit back and I accept it. But it does begin to irritate me and bring in the thought process of "why do I even bother?" when I'm betting on tosh and losing money. Well I love the game, top to bottom. And a percentage of every penny we hand over to bookmakers, win or lose, goes towards the levy. So it all helps. I don't bet more than I can afford. Some of you may see what I bet as a lot, some may see it as only a little, I have a small amount of "pocket money" to play with and that's that. If I win, happy days, if I lose it's not the end of the world. I don't go to pub every other day and pour my cash in the urinal, so this is my vice, my entertainment. Each to their own. Anyway I've rambled on just about enough, most of my readers have probably closed the page already. My NAP today I'm hoping can follow up, he was my NAP when landing decent odds lto and I think he has a decent chance today. I'm also playing  2 in an EW double, they are both about 4/1 so a just achieving the place double should roughly double your outlay. I'll bold them, make it easy.

Morning all, well yesterday looked all set to be another disappointing day until 820pm, when Chris Hayes delivered Relay right on the line for a 7/1 winner, lo and behold 10 minutes later and an enterprising ride from Gary Phillips, Sunrise Dance landed the gamble at 7/2. Certainly a pick-me-up. I have just 3 tips today, I've had a few more bets which I'll tweet, but they aren't gained from my own system/study so they won't be accredited here. I have a double for the tennis and I posted my football bets on twitter last night, check my timeline @GSPCECOYS.

For sure something will have to step up to stop this being a Willie Mullins 1-2. On Official ratings this one has 2lb on her more fancied stablemate. Not a lot between them on form. For me the pricing is based wholely on the 2 pilots. Townend on the fav, P. Mullins on the selection. What you have to remember though is that Patrick Mullins smashed the record for most winners by an amateur jockey in a year, he features highly in the jockeys title despite getting jocked off the ones that turn out to be decent. He's a top jockey Patrick. I fancy this one today, Boylesports 5/2 is a gift.

For me the handicapper has given her an excellent chance against the 2 she met lto, who incidently are 2nd and 3rd in the betting today. She hasn't looked back since cheekpieces applied rising 15lb in the handicap. Record under todays pilot reads 244121 which isn't half bad. I wouldn't go steaming in at the inevitable odds on later but while betvictor are willing to stand 6/5 it's well worth a throw of the dice.

Morning all, I'm disappointed with yesterday, it was one of those days where you have hopes for your runners and they all let you down. I have just 2 today, 1 I've been following in Ireland and has rewarded EW  punters nicely in the past, the other is back from a break and running at Southwell, where she is 3/3. Her previous runs on the fibresand have all also suggested that she may not find the extra furlong as tough as she has found it away from the fibresand.

Morning all, a profitable Saturday, Summer must be coming! The drift on Only Orsenfoolsies certainly made my day, as this blog runs everything to SP!!! I don't have any horse bets today, a couple were close but I've just decided to take a day off. I have, however, backed 4 results in the footy. My bets are 3 singles, a four time, and 3 doubles using the banker and each of the singles. The last 4 fixtures here have all gone the way of the hosts, and Napoli gained a 1-0 victory in Genoa earlier this season. Napoli have picked up an astonishing 29 points from a possible 36 at home this season and having played at home on Thursday shouldn't feel too many after-effects. The visitors have seen a little resurgence since the winter break, beating Juventus and Roma and a draw with Milan but I just think that history is against them here and I make Napoli the banker.

Catania are decent at home but very much rely on shutting teams out, they don't score many. The Bolognese, in comparison, are generally involved in high scoring thrillers. I think the visitors could have too much firepower for the hosts, and it's certainly a hypothesis I'm comfortable testing out at just over 3/1

HANNOVER to win @ Nuremberg 3.9 (29/10) Pinnacle
The hosts have only won this fixture once in the last 5 renewals, with 2 of the last 3 going to the visitors. Hannover seem to either win or lose away from home so effectively you are already getting the book to your advantage with the draw negated. Again this is a price I'm more than happy to play with.

DRAW Valladolid v Atletico Madrid 3.6 (13/5) Pinnacle
These two played out a pretty close game in Madrid in September with Valladolid losing by the odd goal after a strong start by Atleti. Draws are often a decent value bet, because a) every game starts as a draw, and b) if one side leads by a goal, the other side seems to have the majority of the play in the final 5 minutes of a game. This stadium is joint league leader for draws this season so it's certainly not an outside chance.

The Acca pays about 81/1 with a pinnacle account, or 77/1 with BetVictor is the best mainstream. Always worth looking into a Pinnacle account, they are very strong on Tennis and continental football.

I'll start logging the Sports bets in the statistics as of March, since they are regular now. I don't really write too much about my selections as I use quite a complex system, rather than trying to read how the race will go, sometimes I can look that way, especially with the bigger races, but how I obtain my selections on the day of event is much quicker, for me. AP McCoy has a pretty tidy record when riding for Miss Curtis, this horse has been eased by the handicapper enough to squeeze him in at the top of this grade, based on a run that in my opinion he needed. He's not proven easy to win with, only wins have come in a bumper and a chase but I think he should have the measure of these if fully fit.

Morning all, much better day yesterday. 3 winners and 2 places from the 8 that went to post and a small profit made. I just have 4 here today, 1 of which was due to run yesterday and didn't so I have to stick with him.

A decent hurdler, sets the standard here for me. Gave winner far too much rope last time out but a lot to like about manner of victory on prior start. Only other horse to pass in front of him in this code is the very highly rated Gevrey Chambertain. Hopefully he can get us off to a good start.

PUFFIN BILLY 230 EXETER
This horse is a class act. Fully is the one to beat here despite lining up against a grade 1 winner. He hasn't really been asked any questions to date and may well do so today, but i expect him to find the right answers.

CLAR NA MIONN 240 NAAS
I think this one has a chance here. A very creditable 3rd over C&D last time out, to 2 decent looking animals. There is an unknown here in the McManus/Mullins dual bumper winning French import, but I couldn't be backing anything I know so little about at the price it's expected to go off, this one will likely be a double figure price and I think is good value for at least a place in this, which looks a relatively weak event.

ACT OF KALANISI 400 EXETER
I backed him yesterday, only for him to be scratched in favour of running today. Has a winners penalty to contend with here in an open race, but as I said yesterday he will be a value price because he isn't from a "sexy" yard.

Morning all, unfortunately just the shortie obliged yesterday, so where the SR improved a little the LSP did not! I have 11 horses, 7 football teams, 2 tennis players and a BTTS acca to note down today. I have to be as quick as possible however, as somehow an entire year has vaporised and it's my baby girl's 1st birthday.

Given a rating of 119 when landing a soft ground novice hurdle, but struggle under a winners penalty on 2 starts since and has been eased to 116 for his handicap debut. That looks a pretty fair mark and he'll relish the give underfoot.

GLIBIN 145 LEOPARDSTOWN
Her chase form suggests that she could well be on an exploitable handicap mark, I regret I don't know too much about trainer Colin Bowe, but jockey Andrew McNamara is certainly one of the better domestic jockeys over the water.

SIVOLA DE SIVOLA 150 NEWBURY
This horse is consistenly there or thereabouts, I like the Tom George/Paddy Brennan combination, they often pinch a big race at a solid price.

MOLOTOF 205 WARWICK
Stamina saw to him in the Feltham at Christmas. Looks on a good mark here to me back down in trip.

ACT OF KALANISI 240 WARWICK
Been aimed at a couple better races than this and not been disgraced, was travelling well before a fall last start. I feel if this was trained by a Nicholls, Henderson, Hobbs etc.. rather than Dr Richard Newland, then it would not be a double figure price. That basis suggests it's a bet.

SIR DES CHAMPS 320 LEOPARDSTOWN (NAP)
This is to suggest whether or not this horse is a contender for the gold cup, his big market rival Flemenstar, I believe, is not. On the Lexus I'd say SDC has the upper hand, but Flemenstar will likely revert to usual tactics today. This will sure be an unmissable race.

COURT MINSTREL 335 NEWBURY
I've been preparing myself to back Cotton Mill for this all week, but this one really jumped out at me at the last minute. Has decent form ahead of The Romford Pele and behind Dodging Bullets. 2lb out of the handicap isn't a huge bother, especially for a progressive animal, besides Adam Wedge's claim nagates that anyhow.

Likely to be able to dictate pace, under which condition he flourishes. In good nick at the moment, this years form reads 123.

On a reasonable mark, likes soft ground, maybe not this soft. I can't see him out of the frame in this.

Renews rivally with 2 time victor Tammy's Hill. although this time on level terms, therefore making a 5lb swing in his favour. Soft ground record isn't entirely convincing, F22, but the 2s were the defeats to TH.

SALMANAZAR 425 WARWICK
A progressive sort for Alan King. Will need to run best race to win this, but nothing in this race has proven anything at this grade. So why not take a stab. If he pops up anywhere near the tissue of 9/2 then that would be pretty generous.

Morning all, I'm not on the best run at the moment, there are some internal factors behind this as well as just poor luck and for that reason I'm cutting back again on the tips. I have just 3 today, one is likely to go off pretty short, but I hold little sanctity to price, my main interest is finding a winner, the other two are better possibly even e/w prices for those that way inclined. I'll try where possible to add a few comments, I intend to keep them short and to the point, if you want people who can call the unfold of the race then there are far better out there than me, all I'm trying to do is tell you why I'm having a bet on this horse. Hopefully we can raise the strike rate and claw back some of the deficit from the start of the year.

A consistent type trying a longer trip today. Wasn't disgraced in a tactical affair last time and the 2nd has gone on to repeat that placing in a much stronger event. Still a maiden under rules but a combination of the rise in trip and the jockey booking has caught my eye. The excellent Wayne Hutchinson gets the leg up here, making him the first, how do i put this politely, A-grade jockey to get on. Taking nothing away from messr's Mogford, Molloy and Garner they are all more than capable but Hutch is a step up and I think they fancy this.

NEWSTEAD ABBEY 630 WOLVES
This one will be short but new yard obviously keen to get a win into him. Looks exposed on paper but the newcomers look nothing special and those with form are a good 10lb behind. Ran a decent race in what could turn out a better-than-average nursery, the winner has already won again, on his last race for David Brown.

TO THE SKY 820 DUNDALK
I have a bit of a soft spot for this horse, not sure entirely why because he often flatters to decieve. He will travel well that's a given, and for a 14 runner affair at this track stall 4 isn't going to do his chances any harm. Handicapper really hit him for a nice win at the Curragh in the Summer and has relented a little today. Has every chance of at least making the frame here.
