Good Morning, a blank yesterday. But admirable runs from horses that many wouldn't have given a chance, so I won't grumble. I have 4 today, all this evening, hopefully 1 or more can oblige.

Looked to be going the right way last year until bottoming out in a nursery, she's put back in maiden company today hopefully she had just had enough of last year, there's a couple nice bits of form in her line, a few winners have come out of her 2nd race and herself a close second to the useful Ollie Olga after that.

IF I WERE A BOY 710 WINDSOR
I'm not a fan normally of backing something to land back to back wins, but this one looks a generous price. Sure, she's out of the handicap, that outs her up 5lb for her last win when the hancicapper has only felt 1 is necessary. It's a big ask up in class, against some useful handicappers, the one thing I'm looking at is the physical weight 8-7, last time she carried as low as this she scooted up by 4 lengths Straws and grasping for some I guess but it could make a difference.

KINGLAMI 725 LINGFIELD
Backed into favourite to land C&D handicap under Richard Hughes on National day. This is up in class but handicap rise doesn't look harsh and as above the physical weight will be less. Silvestre De Sousa booked today is a big shout as I'm sure SDS could have got rides at Windsor had he wanted them, makes you wonder if they'd have gone for Hughsie again.

This one was a hard luck story last time out, a bold ride from Joe Fanning only to be collared right on the line. Silvestre De Sousa renews his partnership with Mark Johnston, going back a couple years that was really one to fear, hopefully he can go one better today, albeit at a shorter price.

Morning, Flat breakeven yesterday to SP, it'll do, it's better than a loss. I've stepped up my filter a little as both winners had roughly the same profiles so would have qualified under todays rules. I have just 10 today on a very busy day of racing, but 10 is enough, right? Hopefully a couple, or more, can go in. There's no real science to this, a lot of it comes to gut instinct, some to luck, some people are bordering genius when it comes to picking the horses, me I like to be somewhat methodical about picking them. I have 2 bets for the tennis today, and then I'll put up my footy bets too.

Good Morning, and a very brilliant day yesterday, better than I ever could have hoped for. Backing singles only resulting in a return of more than double my outlay, for one days work that is decent! Also many thanks to those who got in touch regarding the results, it means a lot. Sometimes I think I sit here typing away to myself. Morning all, A scraped profit yesterday, I think it was 87p backing to a level £! Although I suppose if you were backing £20 a race, you'd have finished the day £17 in profit, that would have paid for a pizza and a couple beers? Anyway, only 8 today, a pretty poor day of racing really. Kempton and Exeter probably hold their own with a couple decent events, I guess. One word of warning when backing at Kempton is that Ruby Walsh doesn't cross the sea on a Tuesday for the weather and Fish n Chips, although that said, I've taken on the one that he's most likely here to ride!!! KITTY BROWN I've put up already, was highlighted on debut but was very green, missed the start and never had a chance, like I say follow these for a few runs if she is more ready this time out then her price will prove too high. The newcomer in the race I like is LIVIA DRUSILLA, she looks well bred with plenty black type down her female line.

Monday 8-4-13

Morning. So, I'm sitting here this morning, I've picked my horses, entered tipping competitions, placed my bets, and I'm thinking "feels like I've forgotten something". So I make a coffee and it dawns on me, I haven't written my blog! I'm going to stick up more than one in the odd race here and there for a little while. I'll explain why. Basically I use one system to shortlist my horses, which can give me anywhere between 1 a race or I got 14 in the National on Saturday. I then have to pick which of the shortlisted horses I'm going to bet on, sometimes more than one still fits the criteria I'm looking for. So I pick the one I'm most comfortable with.....you can all see where this is going. So I'm just going to test the water and see how it goes. My stats are pretty transparent, if I make a loss I tell you, and I shout loud and proud when I make a profit. I completely forgot to put up my 2yo to follow yesterday, I won't tell you what it was or how it done,that would be aftertiming, but I will put it up next time it runs. I don't have any of the newcomers I like today. Right I'll give you my selections and we'll see how we go.

I might as well start by giving my 5 against the field in the big one. It looks such an open race I wouldn't try put you off backing what you fancy, lets just hope they all get home safe and sound this year. I like 2 above the rest then I just have 3 each way speculations to try and nick a spot. If you're a seasoned bettor then look out for the online firms offering extra place terms, if you don't really know what you are doing then pop down to your local bookie and they will be happy to help you, and if they aren't too busy you may even get a free cuppa and a biscuit.

Morning all, unfortunately I can't pass yesterday's blog off as an elaborate April Fool! It was a shocker. Although lots of places as per, so it's narrow margins making all the difference. Only 11 horses today so much less to worry about, I only need 2 of them to oblige to improve on yesterdays Strike Rate and it's impossible to have a worse LSP than yesterday, all positive notes.
