Thursday 14th July - Where do I begin?

What a delectable feast of action we have today. The first real stage of the Tour De France (the first stage that the contenders will contest). The Open Golf, and solid cards from Leopardstown and Longchamp.
Firstly I'll explain the day off yesterday, normally if there is no blog then it would be because: a) I'm sulking, b)I'm hungover and/or still drunk, c)I'm not at home. However yesterday was none of the above, I was unwell but managed to look at the horses, there was just nothing that ticked my boxes. I spent the afternoon laying on the sofa watching the Tour De France, well done to Cav, picking up the Green Jersey. Now all he has to do is attach some fishing wire between his bike and the HTC car and get through the next 3-4 days. We better get started as lots to get in today.

NAP HINTON ADMIRAL 230 Hamilton
1 of 3 C&D winners in the field, Hinton Admiral has been running .... admirably of late including a win 3 starts ago followed by 2 thirds. Trainer Keith Dalgleish is really making a name for himself and the booking of champion jockey Paul Hanaghan has to be seen as a positive. Horses at the top end of their weighting spectrum often need a couple of runs to get used to a new mark and hopefully that is the case today. 5pt win

NB BOYNAGH JOY 825 Leopardstown
I put this one up on the 26th June when it landed a huge price Each way 4th home of 17. This is a slightly weaker event today and I was a bit surprised to see the price merely halved. I'm not concerned about the step up in trip, he has placed a furlong further still. I would not be shocked to see this one fire home to land us double figure odds. 3pt win

TREBLE DUALAGI 650 Bath
Twice a C&D winner including 3 starts ago where he had to negotiate through traffic before hitting the front a furlong out and ridden away to win. He is another pattern horse, he won at 59 before having 2 runs at 62, then a win at 61, two runs at 64 and now attempts to win off 63. Overpriced for me. 2pt win

1pt E/w treble on the above

TOUR DE FRANCE
I'm putting up 3 today.
Ivan Basso is a massive best price 33/1 with bet365. He should be there or thereabouts on the monster climbs, he won't be the first of the favourites to crack, that's for sure.
Frank Schleck could be a very big price today. He will be marshalling his brother all day, but I don't think Andy is firing on all cylinders this year and the brothers and their team may be forced to make a decision quickly.
David Moncoutie is the leading French hope for the day, and given that it's Bastille day expect him to be up for it. Betfred not only go best price 20/1 but offer up 4 places also.

THE OPEN GOLF
You could probably fit on a post it note what I know about golf, it used to be a postage stamp but seen as I can see the value in Golf Punting (no other sport can you realisticaly give a number of competitors a chance at treble figure prices) I have been making the effort to learn. The US tour is easier to get hold of as they produce stats for absolutely every eventuality. I'm merely just informing of my selections so if I pop up with a 250/1 winner on sunday you can see the truth. I've backed
J.Day 40/1
P.Harrington 40/1
J.Rose 50/1
M.Manassero 66/1
P.Hanson 80/1
A.Quiros 110/1
N.Colsaerts 125/1
S.Cink 140/1
F.Anderson-Hed 250/1
I have backed them all in available match bets, group bets, nationality bets, so if one of these comes in I'll be quids in.

VIKING CLASSIC
I've backed a couple that I've backed previously on the US tour and due to the big names "playing away" this gives them more of a chance, I guess.
H.Slocum 22/1
C.Couch 28/1
R.Imada 35/1
B.Lunde 90/1
R.Beem 250/1

Have a great day, I know I will (win or lose, I just love watching great sport), Good luck and Happy punting.

Profit Tuesday -20pts Profit for July 81.24pts.
